SDP on uudistamassa periaateohjelmaansa. Uusi periaateohjelma on tarkoitus hyväksyä Lahden puoluekokouksessa 2017. Englanninkielinen ”What next for European social democracy?” -tilaisuus tuo eurooppalaisia ajattelijoita Helsinkiin keskustelemaan sosialidemokratian tulevaisuudesta ja tarjoamaan virikkeitä periaateohjelmatyöhön. Minkälaista Eurooppa-politiikkaa sosialidemokraattien pitäisi harjoittaa? Miten sosialidemokraateista voi taas tulla johtava poliittinen voima? Miten digitalisaation hyödyt saataisiin jakautumaan laajalle yhteiskuntaan?
SDP:n puheenjohtaja Antti Rinne avaa tilaisuuden. Keynote-puheenvuoron tilaisuudessa käyttää politiikan tutkimuksen professori Gesine Schwan, joka toimii Saksan sosialidemokraattien periaateohjelmatyöryhmän puheenjohtajana. Tilaisuuden järjestävät ajatuspajat Foundation for European Progressive Studies ja Kalevi Sorsa -säätiö. Tilaisuus on maksuton, kaikille avoin eikä se edellytä ennakkoilmoittautumista. Tervetuloa!

Social Democratic Party of Finland SDP has started a process to write down its basic principles and values for the next decade(s). New program will be adopted at the Lahti party conference in February 2017. “What next for European social democracy?” event by the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS) and Kalevi Sorsa Foundation brings European thinkers to Finland to discuss next steps for European social democrats and progressives. How can social democrats again become the leading force in European politics? How can social democrats shape European integration and digitalization for common good?
Chairman of SDP Antti Rinne provides the opening remarks in the event. Political science professor Gesine Schwan, who is the chairperson of the Basic Values Commission of the Social Democratic Party of Germany, will address the question of building more social and democratic Europe in her keynote speech. The seminar is free of charge and open for everyone. Join us to debate the next steps of the social democratic project in Europe!
